I have been hearing that ever since the big crash of “Ought Eight”.
The Good News is….” The Market” for selling your home is stronger than it has been since the crazy days of 2007-2008. According to TrendGraphix, the average home price for the first part of March 2017 was $361,000 which is as high as it has been since the end of 2007 when it was $290,000. If you combine the lowest inventory levels we have had in over 10 years, Days on market being right around one month and interest rates being low still, The Market has made its return.
If you have been thinking about selling and “waiting for the market to return”, now is the time. Unfortunately with my crystal ball in the shop, I can’t tell what is going to happen in the future, but what I can tell you is that the Real Estate Market is cyclical. What goes up must come down. If you look back on all of the historical data, it goes in 7 year cycles. If the bottom of the market was June of 2011, do the math.
